Antique world map divided into one and the other continent by Cassini - 1800

The maps are made faithfully following the original techniques and materials: manual press, hand-engraved plates and pure cotton paper. Mounting on canvas resumes a historical practice used to facilitate the conservation and transportability of cartographic representations.
The aging, performed with exclusively vegetal substances, gives a lived-in look without altering the integrity of the artifact. The eventual watercolor coloring adds a polychrome rendering of great visual impact.
Since these are completely handcrafted works, each map is a unique piece: any slight variations compared to the original model are to be considered part of the value and authenticity of the product.
